The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny is having the patience and willingness to work with families and adapting to kids needs and personaities, as well as the families needs.
My experience with special needs children...
Although, I have not directly worked with special needs kids- I do believe I have the patience and willingness. I have a deaf twin sister and all my life, I served as her translator for some of my family but also as her helper in all things school related. Growing up with her, I developed patience and insight into a community I would never have been exposed to.

Full-Time Child Care Provider Available in Chicago, IL: Sophia D.
Hi, I’m Sophia! I recently spent three years in London, where I earned my degree in Fashion Marketing & Management.
Caring for children has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. It started at home as an older sister, and in high school I began babysitting for my mother’s friends. From there I worked in the childcare room at The Bar Method, looking after little ones while their parents took class, and I’ve also cared for children at my Catholic church.
I enjoy cooking, getting creative, and learning about history, politics, and the world around me, so expect home-cooked meals, plenty of arts and crafts, and lots of curious conversations. I’m also very detail-oriented: I’m the one who plans the outings, finds the best local events, and makes sure everyone is happy and having a good time.
I’d love to get to know you and your family!

Hello! My name is Alex and I have always loved working with children. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and my Master's Degree in Learning and Technology. I am currently in my 8th year of teaching. In my experience, I have worked with students of various ages and abilities. Because of my background in education, my focus goes beyond supervision. I aim to support your child’s emotional, physical, and developmental growth. A typical day with me includes engaging activities, time for outdoor exploration, and assistance with homework, routines, and skill-building. I have extensive experience working alongside children with special needs, including implementing IEPs, managing ADHD/executive functioning challenges, and utilizing positive behavior intervention strategies. My credentials include an active CPR & First Aid certification, completed mandated reporter training, and a reliable car and clean driving record.
