More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
Relevant experience where I also cared for children includes working as a paraprofessional with special needs students, where I support children with patience, structure, and understanding. In this role, I help students stay focused, follow routines, manage emotions, and feel safe in the classroom. I also have experience helping with homework, keeping children engaged, and making sure they are supported in a calm and positive way.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Activities I enjoy doing with children include arts and crafts, reading books, playing outside, helping with homework, doing simple games, and creating fun activities that keep them engaged. I also enjoy helping kids use their imagination, whether that’s drawing, building, playing pretend, or coming up with little projects. I like keeping activities fun but also calm, safe, and age appropriate.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny is making sure the children feel safe, cared for, and understood. I believe kids need patience, consistency, and someone they can trust, especially when parents are away. It’s also important to communicate well with the family, follow their routines, and create a positive environment where the children feel comfortable and supported.
My experience with special needs children...
I have experience helping children stay focused, follow routines, manage emotions, and feel safe in a classroom environment. I understand that every child learns and communicates differently, so I try to stay calm, supportive, and consistent while meeting each child where they are.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment is when I get to see a child start to feel comfortable and safe with me. I really enjoy those little moments, like when a child opens up, laughs, asks me to play with them, or feels proud after learning something new. Since I work as a paraprofessional, it means a lot to me when I can help a child feel understood, supported, and confident.

Babysitter Available in Phoenix, AZ: Tessa M.
Hi, my name is Tessa and I have been a nanny/care provider and household manager for over 20 years. I have extensive experience working with children of all ages and tending to a wide variety of family needs. I am bilingual (German/English), have my BA in psychology and have done additional coursework and training in Applied Behavioral Development and Early Childhood Education. In addition to my work within the private sector, I have also worked with children in an instructional capacity, developing and teaching preschool curriculum and facilitating after-school arts/enrichment programs. I am also a mother of two (13 and 23), which, I feel, has only further enhanced my patience, problem-solving strategies & ability to connect with children and their parents alike. I approach every child with the same nurturing, sensitivity and attention to safety, as I would my own.
