A little bit about me

I am a healthy, energetic older woman who has raised 11 children. My husband and I fostered as well 48 children over 10 years. I have had a home organization business for years. I have done parenting workshops all over the United States, England and Germany on how to parent and raise children. I was a pastors wife and mentor my whole career. I presently teach small groups of teens how to cook, and to embrace excellent nutrition and eating habits. My expertise is probably training and scheduling while maintaining an orderly home environment. We had so much success as foster parents that Washoe County in Nevada contracted with my husband and me to mentor parents. We have recently moved to the KC/MO area to be near the younger 6 daughters. I’m seeking to do what I love most and that is to love on and nurture children.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

After raising our own 11 children we spent 10 years fostering 48 children who had been neglected, abandoned, and abused. Our aim was to love and accept them and to bring safety, security, love and joy and hope into their lives and hearts, giving them the good rest and nutrition we could give them.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Reading is a big first. But parks, slides, swings, coloring, teaching reading and phonetics, swimming, playing ball. I also begin at wake time teaching how to make their bed, put away their Jammie’s, toys, shoes etc so that from an infant they are being trained as a way of life. As they get older I begin teaching self care beginning with brushing, flossing and hair. Then cooking according to their age.

The most important part about being a nanny...

To be very present, positive and loving. I am known for this.

My experience with special needs children...

My experience with special needs is limited. I had one little girl that was referred to as retarded. I believe she was so traumatized that I treated her through nutrition and patience and even potty trained her when they said it couldn’t be done. By the time she left our home they agreed she was just slow.

The most important part about being a nanny...

A little boy asked me to bake a cake with him so I bought him his own 9 inch rounds and a can of cocoa and together we, but mostly he made a beautiful chocolate cake. Now it’s tradition in his family.

Libby C. - Seeking Work in Kansas City

Full-Time Nanny Available in Kansas City, MO: Libby C.

Hi there! My name is Elizabeth Clinton, but most people call me Libby. I'm currently a senior at the University of Kansas and plan to move to Kansas City once I graduate in May. For 3.5 of my years spent at KU, I was an Elementary Education major and got to experience student teaching, I, unfortunately, realized I just didn't enjoy working within the school system. I currently work at the Boys and Girls Club of Lawrence alongside working for a non-profit that offers assisted living to adults with disabilities. I was also a full-time nanny to an infant last summer. Not to toot my own horn, but most of the kids say I am their favorite. I am also CPR certified! I am looking for something permanent and I would love to meet and work with your family!
