Hi! My name is Elise, and I am diving into my fourth year as a music student at IU. However, my true passion is working with children, as I plan to get my licensure to teach early elementary education once I graduate.

I am extremely comfortable working with children because of my prior experience as a children's librarian, as well as a counselor for my local Boys and Girls Club.

In terms of my experience, I have remarkable patience and gentle approaches with kids--I am also very familiar with students who utilize 504 plans, IDEA, and IEPs in the classroom setting.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I am extremely comfortable working with children because of my own niece and nephew (6mo and 3yo) as well as a counselor for my local Boys and Girls Club (ages 6-12) for the past three years.

I have also worked in a preschool for a little over a year, working with children ages 3-5.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love doing arts and crafts activities with kids, as well as experiencing the outdoors! As a music student, I also have experience teaching music classes for children ages 4-12. I am very active and energetic and keep up with kids well!

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part to me being a caregiver to children is providing them structure that nurtures, educates, and strengthens a child as they grow and learn more about their world. I work with babies/children knowing that everything is a new discovery, and can be scary, exciting, and overwhelming. My job is to help you as parent(s) love your child and give them positive formative experiences.

My experience with special needs children...

During my time at the BGC as well as a TA in high-school, I have spent extensive time with children needing extensive affirming care and attention. I am extremely familiar with behavioral plans, documentation processes, and am no stranger to advocating for youth who deserve the utmost understanding and sensitive care so that they experience an equitable, enriching childhood.

I have worked with children who are low/high functioning on the spectrum, those who are non-verbal, and also those with learning disabilities and mental illness, including: ADHD, ADD, PTSD, OCD, ODD, and FASDs.

I have a very caring and loving attitude towards kids and there has never been a child I couldn't connect with. I do not give up on any child, no matter what they may be going through or experiencing!
