A little bit about me

I recently graduated with my BA in Psychology. Previously I have worked as a camp counselor at a summer equestrian camp (very comfortable with all types of pets), briefly as a swim instructor (CPR and first aid training are current), and have multiple childhood development courses completed. Now my consistent day job involves working with individuals with disabilities at an Equine Assisted Therapy facility.

FBI fingerprinting, Mandated Reporter, and Childhood Sexual Abuse Prevention Training are all current/available as well.

I am willing to go above and beyond for any individual needs for the duration of Winter break, or just hang out and be a trusted sitter for a parents' night out!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was a camp counselor for children ages 5-13 at an equestrian day camp for the summer months. I shadowed my mentor during her advanced camp to better understand how she structured activity and education for experienced kids of middle and high school ages, while playing a lead role in camp for beginners and advanced beginner students when working around the horses and riding.

Children and adolescents with ADHD/ADD, anxiety, and other mental health issues is a familiarity I'd frequently be paired with because I'm able to provide a safe and empathetic environment for others to work through difficult situations.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Outside activities:
I am an avid nature walker and experienced swimmer. I love going to the barn to see the horses (grooming and riding too!), and as well as bike rides tailored to personal skill levels.
Inside activities:
Blanket forts and engaging cooking activities are my specialty! Make your own pizza or cookie decorating

Mental health diagnosis and TBIs are a common area of interest where I have been formally educated and exposed to a variety of treatments.
Intellectual and physical disabilities are not as familiar, but I do have exposure to assisting with these needs.
