My experience with special needs children...
As a lead teacher, I had students off and on in my classroom with general behavioral needs. For instance, some students required some extra assistance with social emotional interactions, toilet training, feedings, and the occasional (preschool level) academic assistance.
In regards to extensive special needs care, I primarily have experience in the behavioral needs and little experience in the physical needs.

The most important part about being a nanny...
With one of my kiddos, my favorite moments have been every nap time. As I get my nanny kiddos situated for nap, C always asks for a hug before laying down, and says ‘I love you, goodnight sweetie’. It warms my heart every time
With my other nanny kiddo, M, my favorite moments are when she gets excited over an accomplishment of hers and immediately rushes to grab my hands and do our silly song and dance together. It’s never the same dance twice, and the words are always made up. Her happy giggles make me laugh the whole time.
My favorite moments with both of my nanny kids are when the girls ask for hugs at the same time, and we all get a good group hug in.
