A little bit about me

Childcare and education have been my main dedication for the past 20 years, leading me around the world and through Chicago, Indiana, and California. It It is a joy to be surrounded by a sense of wonder and innocence, and a privilege to take part in the shaping of young lives.

As a nanny, teacher, or director, the goal I have always kept in mind is children’s empowerment. This entails getting to know them well, calling them to their truest selves and their highest potential. It is important to me to have conversations with children about their discoveries to give them the opportunity to gain better understanding and make connections on their own. Conversations with parents and other caregivers are equally as important, and allow for individualization of care and continuity of connection while parents are away.

My commitment to life-long learning drives me to continue attending workshops and seminars, researching trends, visiting centers, and reading parenting and childcare books. I enjoy fostering their life-long love of learning as well. You might find me nurturing creativity by: teaching art technique; storytelling and reading and all of the things that come along with emphasizing literature; and building and tearing down and rebuilding. I place a high value on holistic nutrition and health and model whatever aspect of this lifestyle I can to the families in my care. When at work, I am often found outside, exploring the world with children. And there is so much more I want to discover!

The two most important qualities that I require and promise to offer on the job are respect and communication, to be a part of a team who grow and learn from each other. I believe I have a lot to contribute out of my heart and passion for childcare as well as my varied experiences and education.
