I have relevant childcare experience from volunteering in my church nursery, where I cared for children from about 8 months to 2 years old. I have also babysat for friends and family, helping care for children by preparing their meals and snacks, supervising them, keeping them safe, and making sure their homework and schoolwork were completed. These experiences have helped me become patient, responsible, and comfortable caring for children of different ages.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy doing simple activities with children, like coloring, arts and crafts, reading books, and playing outside. I also enjoy playing games with them and helping them with activities they are interested in. I like keeping children entertained while making sure they are having fun and feel comfortable.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I think the most important part of being a nanny is making sure the child feels safe, comfortable, and cared for. It is also important to be patient, responsible, and understanding because every child is different. I want the children I care for to feel like they can be themselves while also having fun and learning.
My experience with special needs children...
I have experience caring for children with different needs. I watched a baby for about a year who was autistic and nonverbal, and I learned how to understand their needs through their actions and different ways of communicating. I have also cared for my nephew, who has behavioral challenges. These experiences have taught me to be patient, understanding, and attentive to each child’s individual needs.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite moments was when the little boy I was watching asked me to draw with him. He was so excited talking about all the different colors he wanted to use and showing me what he was drawing. It was a simple moment, but it made me happy seeing how excited he was to share something he enjoyed with me.
