A little bit about me

Hi my name is Grace! As I am currently taking a break from school, I wanted to take this time to delve into my interests in pursuing a possible career in childcare or animal care. Maybe both! I've mainly grown up with younger cousins so I would be the one to look after them, but I loved it! Once I got a little older I started to pick up some babysitting jobs here and there. One of the last two girls I babysat for was born with type 2 diabetes, which I haven't worked with a diabetic child before. After my time babysitting for her, I realized I really enjoyed being able to help kids and create bonds with them. I hope I'll be able to ensure that I would love to be a part of helping your growing family!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I am open for all types of activities! May that range from coloring, arts and crafts, cooking/baking, outdoor games, board games, puzzles, watching movies, dress up, etc.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I feel what really is a main importance when it comes to being a nanny and just working with children in general, is to have patience but also be able to form a bond with them. It's one thing to just make sure the child is safe and look after the house, but to really connect with a kid and watch as their personality continues to grow and to also be around to help them through this journey, is a whole other experience that is enjoyable on both ends!

My experience with special needs children...

I have looked after a 5 year old who was born with type 2 diabetes. This includes giving insulin when needed, finger pricks to ensure blood sugar levels are not too high or low, as well as tracking her blood sugar levels electronically to ensure her health was in order!

The most important part about being a nanny...

I remember for two girls I was looking after at the time, one was 3 and the other 5, the youngest refused to have her parents serve her food because she said she liked how I did it better haha! And for the oldest, she made me a blue and white beaded necklace which she said was Elsa themed and had to make sure to wear it everyday since it was so special. I have never felt more honored!
