A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Gracie Gibson, I am 19 years old and I am looking to provide full-time care during the summer, and part-time care from Fall-Spring while I study nursing at PCC.

I am very passionate about working with kids of all ages! I am skilled at working with various age groups and with most developmental and neurobehavioral disorders. When caring for kids, I like to include activities such as, baking, creative projects, playing board games, and spending time outside. I love to engage as much as I can with each child so I can build friendship and trust.

As I’ve mentioned, am currently attending Portland Community College to study nursing and have goals to become a pediatric nurse. For the current spring term I am taking all online classes so my availability is very open.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have cared for special needs kids aging from ages 4-25 for 3+ years. I’ve also worked as a teacher aid in a third grade classroom, helping kids with schoolwork, teaching them, playing with them, etc. Extra experience includes babysitting for family members off and on over the years and volunteering at youth practices when I was In high school.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love to do crafts of all sorts, anything that helps the child express their creativity, this can also including baking as well. Going to the park or going outside in general is something I always enjoy doing with kids, I will always make an effort to interact while at the park. I like to let my inner child out sometimes, and the kids always love having someone play with.

The most important part about being a nanny...

When I think about myself as a nanny, I think of myself as an extension to the family. This means providing the same amount of love, honesty, trust, and compassion when caring for the child. To me, this is the most important part. Kids look up to adults and react based on what they see, I want to give them a safe environment to express themselves freely and know that they can trust me .

My experience with special needs children...

I have worked with special needs children my entire life, from helping out with the special ed classrooms in elementary through high school, to my own personal experience with my three special needs brothers in my personal life. I’ve been involved with special needs children since I could walk and talk. Bonding with those who have special needs has always come extremely natural to me and I love interacting with them. I have a wide range of experience through all spectrum’s including ASD, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, and with completely nonverbal kids.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of the most memorable moments I've had when working with kids would be the last few days I worked as a teacher aid in a third grade classroom. It hadn't occurred to me just how much they loved me in their classroom until it was time to say goodbye. It left me in tears the whole day because I was so happy I had left such a good impact on all of them. That moment made me realize two things. One: I never want to be a teacher, saying goodbye that often would break my heart. and two: I want to work with kids for the rest of my life. Having the power to be their best friend and a role model at the same time is the best feeling you can ever have, at least in my opinion.

Pleasant, cheerful, college educated, enthusiastic grandmother who recently retired from full-time professional work. I live in Sherwood and my two grandchildren, granddaughter 7 and grandson 13, live in Wilsonville. I'm happy to provide my resume. In the past, my work required a Secret Security clearance from the Dept. of Defense so my background is stellar. I can provide and offer love, laughter, encouragement and light to you and your children. May we meet?

I am a momma of 5 kids ages 8-18. I have been a nanny off and on since having my kids but most of my experience comes from before being a mom. I nannied and babysat for many families. I also worked at the southwest community center as an event coordinator, daycare worker, lead preschool camps and classes as well.
I really miss working with little ones now that my kids are older. Looking forward to hearing from potential families!
