I’ve been a nanny throughout my college career for the past 3 years, and I’ve watched children from 4yrs old to 12yrs old. Furthermore, I have a minor in education and did a lot of student teaching in college.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love letting children explore their imagination in any way they would like which can include playing pretend or painting a picture. I also love sharing my passions with kids such as music (I play piano) and animals, which can look like me taking them to the zoo or something similar. One of the things I like to do most in my free time is actually hiking, so I would love to find a family that is into that as well!
The most important part about being a nanny...
Is just making sure that you’re having the best time with the kids. Whether it be doing homework or going to the zoo, it’s very important to me to make the environment I work in fun and rewarding for everyone, including myself, the kids, and the parents.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most memorable moment happened a couple weeks ago when I had to say goodbye to the 10yr old boy I was a nanny for for almost a year. It was our last day together as I was moving to Atlanta (from Nashville), so I spent it doing all of our favorite things such as going to the park, having a “car picnic” which was us finding the perfect view, opening the back of my suv, and having a little picnic in it while listening to music. We also ate our favorite food and then went to the mall where we picked out plushies for each other to remember each other by. I most definitely cried on my way home haha, but it was a day I’ll never forget.
