Relevant experience where I also cared for children were…babysat/nannied for babies/children when I was in high school (their ages range from 6mons-11y/o)
also I grew up with a little sister and many younger cousins, my mom is a flight attendant so watching my sister while my mom worked was common for me.
Activities I enjoy doing with children…coloring, painting, trying new yummy foods, watching fairytale movies, teaching them how to swim, playing basketball, going for walks near the lake or just swinging at the park, singing, listening and dancing to music, watching them discover/learn new things, and helping them confidently yet safely explore the world.
The most important part about being a nanny…Keeping the child/children safe at all costs & earning and honoring the trust from the parent.
In the moment to try and keep children smiling, entertained or learning something. To instill kindness/empathy by being a good adult influence/example for them to follow.
My experience with special needs children…I don’t have any proper experience, but I am willing to learn if able to be taught.
My favorite nanny moment…when toddlers/kids say thank you/please/excuse me and look up at you smiling, because they know they’ve done good by being polite… and other small moments like that. kids are precious and watching them learn teaches me so much.
