A little bit about me

Hi, I’m Hannah! I’ve worked in childcare on and off for about 3 years now. I’ve cared for children of all ages, ranging from newborns, to about 13 years old. As a nanny in the past, I focused on working with the family’s schedules, and helping develop activities and schedules to fit each family. I am comfortable and have experience with meal prep, house keeping, and school help. I am also very pet friendly, and can help with any pets in the home as well. Additionally, I am comfortable and have experience with assisting families with transportation needs. My main goals are to assist parents in any way they need to make their busy lives just a little bit easier, while also making sure the children feel comfortable and have fun!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have experience working with children and adolescents in an inpatient psychiatric facility.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Some of my favorite indoor activities to do with children are building forts, working on developing children’s life skills by helping them assist in cooking and other household chores at an age appropriate level, story times, and board games. Some of my favorite outdoor activities to do with children are taking them to parks and splash pads. Additionally, I love when I can take children to the library and spend time reading and discovering new books.

The most important part about being a nanny...

To me, the most important part about being a nanny is maintaining the family’s schedule as best as I can. Keeping to a schedule is SO important in a child’s development. In my experience, it not only helps the parents to ensure that their day to day lives are not being disrupted, but it can help the child feel much more comfortable with the idea of having a nanny when the nanny does their best to give the child a similar schedule and structure.

My experience with special needs children...

In the past, I have cared for some developmentally delayed children, as well as some children with physical limitations. I also have experience working with children who struggle with mental illness.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite nanny moments was when I was able to get a child I was caring for to talk to me. This child had never been cared for by anyone besides family, so they were hesitant to open up to a stranger. They would only communicate with me through grunts and growls. After a few weeks of patience, and working with the child and their needs, the child felt comfortable enough to talk to me….. Their request? “More chips please”
