Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Something I've noticed with kids is they enjoy food activities, or anything where they can win a prize. So, I enjoy making easy playful foods such as mud pies, Jello monsters, or simply decorating cookies. As for prize winning activities, that could be foot racing, who builds the highest tower, or draws the best picture or my personal favorite the quiet game (LOL!).
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny is giving good memories to those I care for. It doesn't always have to only be the kids, I want to make parents jobs easier and less stressful.
My experience with special needs children...
When it comes to special needs children, i try to treat them like no other, do your average day activities. However i am aware that not everyday will be the same, and not every reaction is the same. Depending what kind of special needs I need to attend to, I attend to with care, patients (definitely), and love. I want to make everyone feels comfortable, however sometimes i do know a tough love approach may be needed and i am willing to do so. I follow the rules to a tea to give parents a peace of mind, and I never hesitate to communicate. That being said, no matter the child I’m with, learning manners or proper sentences, or even basic math will always be included!
