I am an energetic senior, retired RN with years of experience working around children of all ages. I am a mother of 2 grown children, and I am a grandmother of 2 boys, ages 10 and 12. I am caring, responsible, and will provide a safe and stimulating environment for your child/children. I would love to find a long term placement with a North County San Diego family. I am flexible, and attentive/sensitive to the needs of children and I will be that sort of Nurturing Nanny that will fit in to your home and family routine and environment. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was a registered nurse for over 30 yrs, and I worked all facets of in patient care and case management. I worked in Labor and Delivery, Post Partum, Admission Nursery,Special Care Nursery and the pre requisite Med/Surg units. In my later years, I have over 12 yrs in case management and discharge planning. I am a mother of 2 grown children, grandmother of 2 school age boys, and I have recent experience as a Mother's Helper and references. I hope to find the right family to work for here in North County, San Diego
UPDATE!..Ready for work in October. However, if you are looking for a part time reliable sitter for date nights or occasional weekend, please feel free to reach out and book ahead for that special event that you would like a familiar/regular sitter to help. I have a regularly scheduled parent's night out every Wednesday, but if you are flexible and need someone, please let me know. I hope to help!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Of course, I am a patient, nurturing and reliable, stable caregiver. I am flexible, I am focused on quality, and I will bring a positive, calm, reassuring attitude to my assignment. I have the ability to prioritize. I understand the developmental phases of infants, toddlers, school age children and I would be able to assess the unique abilities and varied personalities of child/children under my charge. I believe in balance, and would not neglect the importance of a variety of stimulation and experiences.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The best part is in making a difference to the family unit. It is about how positive changes and a stable, nurturing and responsible caregiver can supply an added dimension to today's family. When the demands of the external pressures increase the stress and anxiety of primary caregivers/parents, it is a great relief to have the gaps close, and the security of knowing that another caring and nurturing individual is there to keep things running smoothly. Children are the resources of the future. The cause is a very worthy one indeed.

My experience with special needs children...

I have worked with premature infants, mentally challenged children, children that need special supervision, children that require more individual attention or have mild behaviour issues.
