More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I had my teaching certificate and worked in Seattle Public Schools, mostly as a substitute teacher. I worked as an instructor in the School Program at Woodland Park Zoo for a few years. We served grades K through 5. I was lead teacher in a Ones classroom in an early childhood school for 7 years. I volunteered at a camp for children with disabilities.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love reading books, any type of art project, making play dough, baking, making crafts, going on walks. I love to play with whatever is bringing the child joy at the moment, be it trucks, dolls, Legos, puzzles... I also really enjoy bringing children on outings (if permitted), the zoo, the Science Center, and the Children's Museum being a few of my favorites.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Number one priority is keeping the child(ren) safe. Then being a warm and nurturing caregiver the child(ren) know they can trust as another loving member of their family.
My experience with special needs children...
Not a huge number. A few a children on the spectrum. Mostly children with developmental delays.
