"Jessi was absolutely wonderful with our daughter, who she started with around 7 months. We are first time parents and our child was medically fragile at the time and Jessi brought experience, was super careful to not get her sick, and was just generally lovely and joyful. She truly loves the children she cares for. She was also professional and respectful of any rules we set while also bringing her own suggestions which we were open to, and probably saved me hours of googling and researching something like "what is the right cup for X development stage". Jessi is incredibly trustworthy and remains a part of our inner circle, we still ask her to babysit because our daughter loves her and misses her so much. Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I worked in a preschool early in my career.

I spent 13 years as a Youth Director.

I worked with children in residence at a domestic violence shelter.

During lockdown, I taught a preschool pod via Zoom.

I currently tutor two children with special needs via Zoom.

This summer I led an online camp where students in grades 4-8 took a virtual trip around the world with me.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy visiting local parks, weather permitting.

Favorite indoor activities include reading, arts and crafts, and imaginative play.

I excel at fort building.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One thing that I always keep in mind is that the first few years of a child's life are the most formative and ultimately shape their personality and influence who they will become. I really love being part of this formation, and it continually motivates to give my best effort at all times.

I often say that I am in the business of planting seeds. I don't always get to see them bloom, but I do trust that the meticulous care I provide will allow them to grow into the most beautiful form of themselves and spread their own seeds of kindness.

My experience with special needs children...

I have extensive experience with individuals with special needs. I have cared for children and adults with the following diagnoses: Congenital CMV, Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Trauma, Microcephaly, and seizure disorder (not otherwise specified).

I have cared for children with a g-tube.

I worked in an ER for four years, and saw children with a range of injuries during my time there.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I've worked for one family for ten years in various capacities. I met them when their daughter was 3. She has always been a sunny spot in every day, and as a toddler she said the funniest things. One I told her that she was the apple of my eye and she replied, "I'd rather be your blueberry."

Most recently, two young boys that I work with had a camp performance of the music from Wicked, one of my favorite musicals, and they did an amazing job. I was glowing with pride.
