Hello!! My name is Joey Manning.
A little about me, I’m 19 and have been working with kids since as long as I can remember. I helped at a daycare down the street from me for 3 years. I’ve babysat for 5 family’s and still occasionally watch them when needed. I grew up with five sisters and one brother, me being one of the oldest I’m comfortable working with all ages of kids.
I have another job as a bartender so the hours would have to be a little flexible, but I’m totally okay working with you to get the best possible care for your child! (Or children)
I would love to help make your life a little easier and help where I can, that includes cleaning, meal prep and taking the kid(s) on outings if you’re comfortable with that.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I worked as a CNA for three years at the Stewartville nursing home. My first job was helping at a daycare down the street from where I grew up. I have babysat for five family’s with varying ages and genders. In addition to that I’m one of the oldest of my six siblings so carding for children is second nature for me ((I also have experience caring for all kinds of animals))

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Some things I do with the children I care for includes, reading, playing with toys, coloring, dancing to music, play hide and seek, teaching them to cook (I normally have them use play dough while I use the ‘big kid’ stuff). If using my vehicle is an option I like taking the kids to parks, out to eat occasionally, on a walk, to the movies.
For younger kids I tend to lean more towards verbally engaging them. Listening to music they like, reading books with funny noises, keeping them with me through my daily tasks so they feel involved and stimulated.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I don’t believe there is one part of nannying that is most important. The job as a whole is important, as long as the kids are happy and the parents are happy with the care then my job was a success.

My experience with special needs children...

While I don’t have experience with special needs kids I am more then capable of putting in the work to make sure your kids has the best experience with me as a nanny. No matter the child, they deserve the best and I will learn how to be that for them.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I wasn’t a nanny at this time but while babysitting a boy and two girls the boy decided he MUST marry me. The girls then got excited because being married means you get to play dress up! So we all did our makeup and put on dresses and the little boy (who insisted on being the one to walk down the isle with his sides by his side) walked down the decorated hallway with the biggest smile on his face. Seeing his smile made all glitter I cleaned up well worth it ;))
