"I cannot recommend Katherine enough! For 1 year we worked very closely together as she was our full time nanny through August of 2024. She was an absolute joy to work with! Katherine is a wonderfully kind and responsible person. She came to work every day with a positive attitude and showed great maturity of judgement in all situations with our daughter. Katherine was always willing to collaborate with us on every situation that arose with our daughter, from best sleep practice to healthy eating and potty training and beyond. She was supportive not only of our daughter but also of me as well as we navigated multiple issues that arose through our daughter's second year. We now consider Katherine to be a member of our family and still keep in touch and our daughter still gets very excited to see her! Katherine will be an asset to any family seeking care for their children! We are happy to be a reference and can answer any questions that may arise during her interview process."

"Katherine kept our newborn daughter while I worked full time for approximately 7 months and then she continued to provide childcare as needed until we moved from the area (another 8 months). We absolutely loved having Katherine in our home. She was like family and a huge blessing after our original childcare plans fell through. We were so lucky to have her. Katherine is so good with babies and children. She will follow any instructions exactly as you provide. One of my favorite things about Katherine is her gentle nature with children. We are still in touch and she has kept my now two children on occasion even though we live out of state. I fully trust my children in her care. She is dependable, honest, and hardworking. Please let me know if you have any additional questions!"

The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part of being a nanny for me is both the memories that are made and the proper developmental growth. A child must laugh and make joyful memories as they grow. It is also important to keep up with developmental milestones, working and encouraging the child to grow. I believe in a balance of these two parts of childcare.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite nanny moments is more like a favorite nanny afternoon. My nanny kid (2) and I went to the park on a warm spring day. I laid out a blanket while he ran through the grass to a patch of dandelions. He picked a handful and came toddling back to give them to me. He repeated this process several times, scurrying to and from the blanket until I had a lovely pile of flowers in my lap.
He wandered back over to me and lay down on the blanket, pulling me down with him to watch the trees above us sway. All the while, he was talking about anything and everything with the vocabulary of a fifth grader.
We ended the day with a Chick-fil-A run and some good rest time. 10/10 day!

"Hello! I’m Renee (or Nene to my grandbabies!). I am a high-energy 55-year-old with a lifetime of experience caring for children, starting from when I was just 10 years old. I currently work part-time as a personal assistant, and I am looking to fill my open hours doing what I love most: engaging with little ones. I don't like to just sit around! You can count on me to take your children on walks, visit local parks, and dive into fun arts and crafts. I am also currently in the process of refreshing my CPR certification to ensure the highest level of safety. I look forward to bringing fun, structure, and loving care to your family!"

Part-Time Child Care Provider Available in Virginia Beach, VA: Stephanie M.
My name is Stephanie and I am hoping to help support families with children and/or adult family members in the Virginia Beach area. I recently moved back to Virginia Beach after living in the midwest the past 35 years. I have a masters in public health with a focus on community health education. My professional experience includes health education for both adults and children in community based settings, predominately in the area of emotional and logistical support for the maternal-child population. Most recently, I have been providing care in a hospice setting for end-of-life patients as a licensed massage therapist. Although I don't have any recent nannying experience per se, I am a 57 year old recent empty nester who has raised two children from birth into early-adulthood and have spent most of my career supporting mothers and families of young children. Raising my children is my proudest accomplishment and I miss it terribly, I look forward to hearing how I can best support you.
