A little bit about me

Hi my name is Kathleen!

I am a mother to two kids myself, a 4 year old and 5 year old. I love working with children and have 3 to 4 years of professional experience working with them. Additionally, I have professional experience with special needs children.

I have my bachelor's in psychology and master's in school counseling. I have first aid and CPR training but need to update my card. Although I have these degrees, I became a stay at home mom to care for my own kids. I really do appreciate time with the little ones. I enjoy preparing them with home schooling type activities to stimulate their developing minds. However, I am now looking for a flexible part time job that can I do in the evenings. One that is rewarding and allows me to continue my passion is ideal.

Looking for temporary position to start ASAP but potentially end in early November. I have allergies to both cats and dogs, and several other things and would prefer the children be brought to my home because of this.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have worked at the YMCA daycare and Bright Horizons as a teacher. I have specifically worked with 2 year Olds and infants. Occasionally, I would care for 1 year Olds, 3 year Olds, and preschool age.

I also have some experience working at NHS as a behavior technician working with children with emotional needs and some autism.

In my personal life, I manage meal planning and preping with my own two children. Regularly, I research new ways to challenge their minds through varying activities. I also coordinate nap times as needed to give individualized care throughout the day. I try to keep them active into the later portions of the day to help them sleep through the night. Bed time consists of a routine ending with a story and prayer before being tucked in.

I enjoy taking my kids to the park, painting/doing art projects, reading to them, puzzles, and playing pretend (cooking, different occupations, animals, etc.).
