A little bit about me

Hi I'm Katie!

I have 9 years of babysitting/nanny experience. I have experience babysitting kids ages 1 month-13 years, up to 4 kids at a time, and working with kids with special needs! I'm Red Cross certified in babysitting, adult/pediatric/infant First Aid, CPR, and AED.

Some activities I love doing with kids are playing sports/games, crafts, reading books, playing make-believe, and playing outside! I value getting down on their level and doing whatever they're interested in! I have a car and can take kids to activities, the pool, park, library, etc.

I have one more semester at the University of Richmond getting a degree in psychology + history then I'll get a masters in clinical social work! In my free time like to I spend time with my dog, ice skate, and play guitar and bass!

This summer I'm just looking for a part time job ~8-12 hours ~2-3 days per week, happy to work on a set schedule or have flexibility!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Other than nannying/babysitting I have also cared for children through volunteering with the special needs ministry at my church! I spent so much time doing it, it was the topic of one of my college essays LOL!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy basically any activity that kids seem engaged in, but if they don't have anything specific in mind some things I like to do with my past and current families are:

- Crafts (I love coming up with craft ideas)
- Board and card games
- Sports (although I'm only decent at basketball LOL)
- Reading books (and helping them read!)
- Going on walks
- Playing make believe
- Going on outings to the pool, parks, lake, etc!
- Singing/dancing
- Playing music (I can bring my instiments!)
- Ice skating (I can help teach them!)

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important parts of being a nanny is forming a relationship with the kids, having as much fun as possible while staying safe, and helping them develop into even more amazing little humans!

I truly value the relationships I build with the kids I watch and I always make sure to go back to see them when I come home from school!

My experience with special needs children...

I have done extensive volenteering with children who have varying special needs, as well as babysitting for kids with autism and ADHD!

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny/babysitter moments is everytime I go back to babysit the family of the kids I babysat for all of high school (so now 6 years!!), they never want me to leave and follow me down the driveway, requiring multiple hugs before I get in my car!
