Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I grew up babysitting my younger brother and step-siblings. I’d watch them all day during the Summer months; planning activities for the day, making meals, and keeping the house clean. I’d also get everyone ready for school in the morning during the school year and help with homework when we all returned home.
I now have a 11 month old baby and have gained quite a bit of experience learning to care for her. It’s like nothing I’ve ever experienced before and can be difficult at times, but I absolutely love caring for children of this age. We often meet up with other moms of kids her age and have “play dates”, go for walks, practice fine motor skills, and read books.

Being a caring and dependable person to not only the family as a whole, but especially to the children you’re caring for. Giving them as much attention, care, and fun/educational experiences as you’d give your own child.
My experience with special needs children...
Unfortunately, I don’t have any direct experience caring for those with special needs. I do however have a younger step brother (age 26) with special needs and I absolutely love being around him. He’s one of the friendliest people I’ve ever met and I love playing games with him when I go back home for visits.

When I was 16, I would take my siblings to the city pool often over the Summer. It’s not a specific moment, but I loved being able to play and interact with them everyday while still being very active. Everyone was always having fun, but if any conflicts ever arose, I never had a problem switching from fun sister to responsible sibling when needed.
