A little bit about me

I have extensive experience working with children in a variety of educational/caregiving roles, including as a teacher assistant, administrative assistant, teaching artist, and nanny. My teaching work includes supporting classroom learning, co-creating movement programs with teachers, and leading afterschool dance/reative expression classes. As a nanny, I’ve cared for children from infancy to 15 yrs, recently supporting the growth of a child from 4m-2 yrs until they transitioned to daycare. Through this work, I’ve developed strong skills in supporting infants and young children with bottle feeding, nap schedules, transitioning to solids, crawling, standing, walking, and early speech development. I also have experience with potty training, managing sick days, building social-emotional skills, assisting with homework, and creating age-appropriate learning activities at home. I especially enjoy reading, spending time outdoors, exploring nature/animals, and engaging in tactile activities.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my proudest moments in my last nanny position—caring for a child from 4 months to 2 years old—was when she made her first color association independently. I was wearing a red jacket while she was eating strawberries, and she looked at my jacket, then back at her fruit, and said, “The same color, red.” It was such a special moment because we had been working on color recognition through different playful activities for some time. Not only did she identify the color correctly, but she also made the connection between two unrelated red objects. That simple statement showed not just memory, but emerging critical thinking and observational skills.
