Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I babysit for family friends at the moment and have been for the past few years, I was also a lifeguard so I know basic cpr and I assisted kids swimming classes where I learned how to interact with children better.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
The activities that we chose for a child to do are very important. I like to engage them educationally but also make it fun like with a board game or spelling game or something of that nature that would require them to think rather than just putting a screen in front of them. Along with that, arts and crafts are a good way for the child to problem solve and be creative and it’s really fun too. I also like going to a park or trying a new sport or something to move their bodies and keep them active throughout the day.
My experience with special needs children...
One of the children I babysit at the moment has adhd. Meaning that this child is constantly fidgeting, doing something, or trying to get your attention. Although this is a condition, a lot of children have these same habits, and being able to work with this child has taught me so much patience and how to deal with certain behaviors that I wouldn’t have known before.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite part taking care of these children is the excitement they have for me when I walk through their door. The jump hug thing that they do each time is just so priceless
