I have been volunteering/working at summer camps since the age of 14. I have Nanny experience with a 6 month old and a 2 year old. I have worked with kids with special needs ranging in age from 8-21. I currently work in a Montessori school with a classroom size of 10 aged 2-3.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
One of my favorite things to do is arts and crafts! I also love going to the park or on walks.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Learning. On both parts. I believe the bond you form with the kids you nanny should be special. I think if you can't learn something from the kids you nanny and they can't learn something from you then it is simply just not the right fit.
My experience with special needs children...
My 11 year old sister has high functioning autism. I have also been working with the therapeutic recreation program for the past two summers working with kids ranging 8-21. In addition I am a direct support professional for a 14 year old.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I’m not sure I can ever pick one! I have worked with hundreds of kids in so many settings it would be hard to choose. I enjoy this work and each individual gives me valuable lessons and wonderful memories.
