The most important part about being a nanny...

• Witnessing a child's "aha" moment when they grasp a challenging concept or skill, showing the impact of your guidance and teaching.
• Seeing the joy and excitement on a child's face when they accomplish something they've been working hard on, fostering their confidence and self-esteem.
• Building a strong, trusting bond with a child and their family, creating a meaningful and lasting relationship based on care and respect.
• Helping a child overcome a fear or obstacle, supporting their growth and development in a positive and nurturing way.
• Celebrating special milestones and achievements with a child, creating cherished memories that they will carry with them for a lifetime.

My experience with special needs children...

In my experience working with special needs children, including those with ADHD and defiance disorder, I've learned the importance of patience, understanding, and individualized approaches to support their unique needs.
Children with ADHD often benefit from structured routines, clear expectations, and breaks to release excess energy. Providing them with engaging activities and incorporating movement into their day can help them stay focused and manage their impulses.
For children with defiance disorder, establishing clear boundaries and consistent consequences is key. Building positive relationships and offering choices within limits can also help them feel empowered and reduce oppositional behavior.
In both cases, it's essential to approach each child with empathy and a willingness to adapt strategies based on their responses and progress. By creating a supportive and understanding environment, we can help these children thrive and reach their full potential.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of the most memorable moments I've had as a nanny was watching a child, I cared for develop a deep love for art through exploration and technology. His enthusiasm grew, and he began to experiment with different techniques and styles. Seeing his excitement and pride in his work was truly inspiring. He would often exclaim with joy as he made discoveries and learned new techniques. It was amazing to witness his talent blossom and to see how technology could enhance his creativity.
This experience solidified the importance of encouraging children to explore their interests and passions. By providing them with the resources and support they need, we can help them discover their talents and abilities, leading to incredible moments of growth and discovery.

Live-In Full-Time Child Care Provider Available in Brooklyn, NY: Nelly Donalio C.

Hi, I'm Nelly, and I'll tell you a little about my experience so you can rest easy while I do my job. I was a kindergarten assistant at a multi-age school in Peru. I worked as a nanny for a year in New York, where I cared for a 3-month-old baby, a 2-year-old boy, and a 3-month-old girl. I also cared for two siblings, ages 3 and 6, whom I adore so much. I know the importance of changing diapers, sterilizing bottles, washing dishes properly, early stimulation to encourage rolling and crawling, sleep routines, good feeding schedules, and what to give them so they eat well. By the way, I also love to cook. I strive to keep them entertained with educational games, fostering their creativity without the help of screens like tablets or cell phones. I also don't smoke and consider myself a respectful, kind, honest, and sincere person. If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to write to me!
