The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny would be being patient and attentive. Having patience is KEY to helping any child. Children love to be heard and seen, whether they are excited about something they just accomplished, or are upset about something, it is always important to be super observant, and tend to those needs, as they are still learning how to communicate their feelings.
My experience with special needs children...
I have experience with a range of ages 4-12 years old with autism (some children being non verbal) I helped them with their learning and homework. We play games and go with the flow or routine of the individual child. I also meal prepped and did some house tidiness.
The most important part about being a nanny...
When a child was struggling with socializing with everyone else and speaking. For the first week we practiced slowly transitioning into group (because they would sit far away from everyone) and I would sit with them and talk one on one. everyday I worked with them, and everyday they started becoming more and more social with everyone, starting with sitting at lunch with everybody and then playing with other kiddies at recess, after 2-3 weeks they were super involved in circle, speaking up more, and were making many friends in class. It was nice to see the progress and transformation in this child. They were much more comfortable and happier in the end!
