I am a college graduate looking to sustain myself while I focus on furthering my career path. I have 2 younger siblings and have been caring for them, as well as their friends and the children of family friends, since I was 14. I love children and love being around them. With an English degree I am able to help them enrich their vocabulary, read to them, and make sure they are engaged in fun activities!

I'm a easygoing person, creative, patient, responsible and honesty.
I like to go to the park, library playgrounds inside and interest places with my kids, at home: do same crafts and cook for them. Also I'm open to learn and prepare different activities if you want to, just let me know.

My name is Ashley and I have experience with infants to 12 year olds as I was an infant teacher, assistant preschool teacher, and camp counselor at a daycare for 3 years. I have taken care of newborns as young as 6 weeks old. My responsibilities included feeding, changing, engaging the younger infants in tummy time to strengthen their necks, playing, reading, singing, and tidying up. I also have experience with infant twins. I developed great relationships with the children as well as the parents,I enjoyed it very much, but could not support myself with the income I was receiving. I am trying to move out on my own now and am looking for a full time position as a nanny. I am currently going to college majoring in physical therapy. I have 7 years total experience caring for children and I love what I do. I occasionally am a mother's helper for a girl with special needs. I also babysit for a family I have been with for 7 years. I was a piano teacher to a 4 year-old girl as well and do occasional babysitting for various families. I am 22 years old and even though I am young I know a great deal about children. I sing and play piano and would love to open the world of music to your children. The daycare required me to get my background check. I also have my CPR/ First Aid certifications and I can give you as many references as you would need. Thank you for reading!

I first started babysitting at the age of 10 for a family that lived down the street, after being refered, I started babysitting for multiple families in the neighborhood. It was my first job and I loved it. When the children became older and I started working as a camp counselor in North Penn, I liked it so much that decided to work the schools out program and continued to do summer camp a few more years. I worked with kids from the age of 5 to about 13, but I was primarily with 2nd and 3rd grade. Later I became a nanny for two different families, one with an 8 year old girl and the other with an 8 year old girl and a 13 year old boy. I would meet her at the bus stop and pick him up from school (when he was finished with his after school activities). I made sure homework was completed, made dinner, cleaned, washed laundry, took her to dance lessons, and of course played. I had similar responsibilites for the other family except that I would also spend the night when the mother had to go away for business. I would get her ready for school in the morning and walk their dogs in addition. I'm also the mother of a seven year old little girl:) She is in second grade so i have full time availbilty during the morning/afternoon but I can stay later during the week if she can come. If its only for one night during the week other than a Friday, I can make arragements, my schedule can be flexible.

I've been taking care of children since I was in high school. During college, I babysat for a family of 5 children. I often would take care of the children after school, on weekends, and for up to a week (over nights) when their parents would go away on vacation during the school year. My duties consisted of driving the children to and from school, preparing dinner, "light" housework and entertaining the kids and often their friends as well. I also babysit a family of 2 last summer. I developed a consistent routine for the children throughout the summer. Their routine consisted of morning school work then different activities daily (dance classes, going to the public libraries, gymnastics classes, swimming, going to public parks, other excursions and baking).

She’s is a very hardworking person and always did her job amazingly. She was always on time and even offered to stay later and help when needed. I never had to worry about my child’s care in her hands and I’d trust her to watch any of my other children as well. - Megan

Understand Nanny Responsibilities in Lansdale, PA

Before beginning the search for a nanny, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a nanny is the right choice for your child care needs. In hiring a nanny, first, you should think through what responsibilities you expect your nanny to handle. With that information, you can create a profile so that nannies can reach out to you. The boundaries for nannies duties vary from family to family. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example, housekeeping or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your nanny before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location can impact how much you should pay your nanny.

Lansdale Nanny Interviews

Once you start connecting with prospective nannies, the next step is a nanny interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some nanny interview questions to consider asking:

  • Do you have experience being a nanny?
  • How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?
  • What sort of household tasks are you open to doing?
  • Are you open to a live in arrangement in Lansdale? Do you have experience being a live in nanny?
  • Are you open to being a nanny in a nanny share?
  • Do you have any references?
  • Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Lansdale?
  • Do you have a driver’s license in PA? Do you own a car?
  • What salary are you seeking? Are you open to being paid through direct-deposit, pay stubs?
  • What are your expectations around over-time pay and vacation time?

During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references, and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a prospective nanny, it’s essential to make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your nanny. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around nanny responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming! And of course, as you learn how to hire a nanny, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.
