I love teaching kids about all the plants and bugs. I like to have kids grow gardens, or walk through gardens. I enjoy getting the kids outside at parks and the river so they can explore the big world. I will not encourage screen time unless the parents say otherwise.

I have tutored special needs kids in math and reading. My Mother ran after school special ed and summer school programs, where I always helped with setting up classrooms, homework and just helping the kids feel normal and accepted.

When I was teaching for the YMCA, we would get kids for 5 days. On the first night we guided them out on a night hike in the forest. One of my classes was third graders, 3 boys and 2 girls. They were from the cities and had never been outside in the forest. As we started on the trail which was only a few hundred yards from the main cabins, the little boys were doing something to scare to 2 girls. The girls held onto my back pack until we stopped. I made fire to have s'mores to lift the spirits. It was the first time I realized what a responsiblity it is to look after kids and how hard it is for them to understand the world.
