More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
In the past, I've worked as an Au Pair a few times, with children between the ages of 4-15. I worked providing live-in childcare and English tutoring to international families. It was an incredible experience. I got to work with the children as a family member while helping them to grow in their education and their passion for learning. I'm also incredibly passionate about early childhood education, which is something I'd like to continue working with. I've also worked in a daycare center with children ages 6 months - 6 years. I loved working with all the kids and helping them learn! But I also learned that I prefer to really get to know a child so that I can understand their individual perspective and help them from that perspective. I have also worked as a babysitter for children ages 2-8 and as a science camp counselor for children ages 8-10. I'm studying part-time to be a doctor and my parents both work in healthcare, so I'm very well-trained in CPR and first aid.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Imaginative games, drawing, reading, engaging educational activities, baking (with older children), dancing, playing. I love to make sure your child is engaged and learning throughout the day, taking advantage of their natural curiosity to build on their knowledge. I believe the best way for a child to learn is to have it be a part of everyday life. I don't like to spend a lot of time on screens, but instead prefer to get my (and the kids') hands dirty and learn through experiences. I think there's so much opportunity to foster a child's early curiosity and dive into what really interests them. I'm hoping to find a family with a similar outlook. Most important to me is that your children can flourish in the best environment for them. I like to take on a loving and family-member-esque relationship to the children and the parents. I grow very fond of the kids and like to be involved beyond a strict employee-employer relationship. I've found that this helps the children feel supported
The most important part about being a nanny...
Being a nanny provides you with the amazing opportunity to have a hands-on impact on the learning and growth of a child (or children). I care deeply about helping children foster their love of learning and getting to know them in the way a nanny does enables me to work with them to ensure they have the best experience learning
I am incredibly passionate about early childhood development and think the role of a nanny provides a great opportunity to partner with the parents to make a child's experience the best possible for their growth

My experience with special needs children...
I have worked as a live-in care provider for a 6 year-old with Down Syndrome. I've also worked with a 5 year-old with ASD. I currently tutor a 5 year-old with ADHD
If I haven't worked with your child's specific types of special needs in the past, I am very willing to learn. I do want to become a pediatrician when I finish my university studies, so working with children of all abilities is something I am deeply passionate about.
