More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
Girl aged 6 months-1.5 years - I looked after this toddler on and off for 2 years. I would take weekend trips with the parents, and while the parents were out enjoying themselves we would play games and practice walking.
Girl aged 6 years - I would look after this girl on and off for one year. We would play her favorite games, I would prepare her snacks and I would put her to bed before her parents got home.
2 girls ages 7 and 8 years - I have looked after these two girls on and off since 2019. I have prepared them snacks and full meals, helped them with homework, driven them to extracurriculars and kids play places, and taken them out shopping in busy shopping centers when the parents wanted me to do so.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Playing with their favorite toys, preparing their favorite snacks, working on creative crafts, drawing or painting, puzzles, etc. I do my best to minimize screen time.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Teaching kids how to speak what is on their mind and connect to their emotions, so they can speak about what is on their conscious as well. A person can only ever be as successful as their communication skills.
My experience with special needs children...
I have monitored a 6 year old girl with Autism Spectrum Disorder several times. I have read a fair bit about ASD and have applied what I have read while monitoring her, and we have developed a good amount of trust and respect because of it.
The most important part about being a nanny...
While I was monitoring this 6 year old girl with ASD, she wanted to hold my pet rabbit. I allowed her to hold him because he was always a well behaved pet, but she wasn’t handling him properly and he nipped her finger because of it. She got very upset and the others around us didn’t know what to do about it. Kids with ASD are very emotionally sensitive and prone to hyper-stimulation, and because I know that I gave her lots of extra time and space to calm down before calmly explaining to her that he didn’t want to hurt her and it wasn’t anything she did, he was just a little bunny and thought her finger was a carrot. She felt so much better after the thorough explanation and a hug, and it made me feel great to know that I had done my job properly.

Hi, Maggie here! A mom, myself, I empathize with the need for an extra hand or some free time to run errands, work, socialize, or just get some breathing time. Along with being a mother, I have been a full time nanny adding to my experience. I live full time in Paradise Valley, could be open to a private live in position with the understanding that my 8 year old son would be with me at times. However, I would love to be available for you when needed. Currently, seeking full time but I have flexible hours to assist with daily tasks. I am a runner, cyclist, I do not ski but I love to be active. I have lived in CO for 16 years and now call Scottsdale home. I have my own car to utilize, but am open to being provided a work car to keep things separate for my own child. I have my own methods for calming an upset/angry child however will work together with the family to do what is best! Thank you!
