A little bit about me

Hello! My name is Lilly and I’m about to finish my freshman year of college with a major in Early Childhood. My goal is to be a developmental pre-school teacher or continue working as a Toddler Teacher. I am learning more in depth about caring for children than when I have babysat before. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I currently am a 2 year old teacher downtown and know I have found my passion with children. I have worked with a range of children, from Infant to age 10. I have worked with kids with developmental delays, behavioral issues, special education needs, as well as in large groups and 1 on 1. Childcare has really taught me patience but I am absolutely committed to the field and it is without a doubt what I love to do with my life and my time.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love to do really anything with kids. I enjoy teaching independence, dancing, using musical instruments, cooking, teaching personal hygiene and self responsibility. I encourage plenty of art, developmental activities, cultural competence, and I just love modeling and working on social emotional learning.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Is being there for the children and knowing what they need. Every child has their own sets of needs and wants, and they need to know there is someone there to help them take care of those while being safe, happy, and healthy.

My experience with special needs children...

I have dealt with mild forms of autism, behavioral issues, verbal disabilities, including being nonverbal, conduct disorders, wheelchair bound, partial blindness, and children being deaf or partially deaf. I have plenty of experience with “Big Mac buttons” as well as baby sign language.
