In High-school I took child development and advanced child development. My advanced child development class was a class where I drove to the preschool of the township and volunteered working with children aged 3-5 years old.
Then I was a babysitter for a 6 month old baby girl from 6:30am-4/5pm Monday-Friday for a few months in 2019.
My last nannying job started in early January 2020 for two boys aged 5 and 8. They were sweet boys who I spent many hours with daily. My responsibilities as their nanny were to do after school pick up, drop offs to any activities or places they were to be after school, fed a snack after school, direct them to sit and do homework and help best I could, play and get them outside and moving, and start dinner. I also would babysit for date nights when asked. I loved the boys and the family I worked with, unfortunately Covid had hit and due to uncertainty about it all at the time I didn’t return. Thankfully the boys mom was able to start work from home.

The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite and most memorable nanny moment was when starting to teach my 5 year old I cared for at the time to ride a bike. For days him and I went up and down the road with me pushing and holding his bike up why he tried to balance. He ended up getting frustrated and stopped, but when I came over after the weekend ended he was so happy and excited to show me he finally got the hang of it over the weekend. I’ll never forget his sweet voice shouting so excited that he didn’t need training wheels.
