More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was in the A+ program in high school and helped out at after school programs in the Park Hill district. I was an intern at St.Lukes North hospital, shadowing in the pediatric unit, where I also became first aid and CPR certified.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Building legos, arts and crafts, coloring, video games, playing catch, swimming, outdoor sports such as soccer and basketball, and baking treats!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Building relationships and trust with the family I am working for. Also the health and happiness of the child/children I am caring for, while always meeting the parent’s expectations and rules. Communication is key!

My experience with special needs children...

I cared for an elementary school age boy that had autism and was nonverbal. Due to a gastrointestinal condition he had, he needed to be fed formula through a G-tube as his source of food. I cared for him for a little over three years before I moved away for college where someone else then took over. Caring for a nonverbal child taught me a lot of patience and picking up on his nonverbal cues.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Building a pillow fort during winter break with a Christmas movie playing on the TV. Once we finally had the fort built snow started to fall and it truly felt like we were in the movie. Definitely a memory I’ll always remember for sure.
