I have 1 year of experience working and engaging with children with special needs. In my experience, I was a direct support professional (DSP) for a child and provided 1-1 support in their private home. The most important part about being a nanny...
I got my first formal nanny job while I was in college. I nannied overnight for a sweet, single mom who worked the night shifts as a nurse. I picked the kiddos up from school and after dinner we made my favorite kid dessert- tye dye cupcakes! The three girls I nannied had no hope about my crazy idea… When we cut open a cupcake, the girls went wild and were so, so excited! That memory is a huge reason as to why I love working with kids. They are curious, full of joy, and love a surprise!
