Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I’ve been working with kids since middle
School when I began nannying and taking first aid. Then from there I was a camp counselor at wyldlife and Younglife, I also taught Art to kids pre-k to HS level. Throughout all of that I was still nannying and also taking care of newborns in some of the families I worked with, and eventually began teaching gymnastics ages 6 mo-16 yrs, was a cheer coach, soccer coach, softball coach and helped teach swimming. Once I moved to CA I worked in an elementary school as a teachers helper in two classes. When in Northern California I worked with multiple first time mothers and newborns. Then I became an EMT and the primary teaching job I had was as a surf instructor for 6 years before I moved to SoCal. Now I have been continuing teaching surfing to children and adults local to north county, as well as occasionally helping babysit for friends and their kids. I love helping my friends with their babies and kiddies, always keen to lend a hand.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Walks, going to the park, sports, surfing, swimming, fishing! And for indoor activities, I love arts and crafts, cooking, board games :)

Being a good role model. Making sure I’m building a healthy relationship with the family I’m working with as well as keeping it fun and positive for the little ones!
My experience with special needs children...
I have worked with special needs kids for over 10 years! Beginning in gymnastics classes working specifically with the kids who needed more attention, and have continued working with them in a number of environments. Such as nannying, surfing, camping/hiking and the arts.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Teaching a couple of the kids i nannied at the time to surf and then i helped them make a little art piece for their parents to mark their little achievement! Beyond cute and was really a special little day.
