More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have 5 years of experience working as a nanny and babysitter, with kids aged 5 months- 15 years. Beyond this I have served as a childcare worker at my church, where I facilitated arts and crafts, snack and play for 10+ kids at a time. I have also completed a 6-month internship as a Speech Therapist Aide in a local Elementary school. In my internship I learned how to approach and connect to kids with diverse backgrounds and abilities. I worked one-on-one with children with a range of speech difficulties and impediments; I was responsible to plan and lead them through their lessons. Building relationships with those children and watching the joy on their faces when they could push through a sentence without stuttering has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy arts, crafts, spending time outdoors, and imaginative play!

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of being a nanny is understanding the child in front of you, what they need, and how you can show up for them. The key is being consistent, reliable, and curious. Curious about the child and their inner world, and consistently there for them in whatever they may need. That is where trust is built and relationship flourishes.

My experience with special needs children...

I have cared for many children with autism as well as ADHD, during my time as a nanny. My own sister has a learning disability, so growing up although she was older, I would often care for her. I have a big heart for children with special needs, and I enjoy learning about who they are and how I can help them.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I will always cherish putting 5-year-old Teddy to bed, I was tucking him in and making up a bedtime story, and just before his eyes fluttered to sleep, he said "Ms. Megan...I love you." I nearly cried. These moments give me a taste of what motherhood will be like, and in them I find pure joy.

Misty F. - Seeking Work in Naples

Live-In Full-Time Child Care Provider Available in Naples, FL: Misty F.

I have spent more than 20 years working with children and families through nature-based education, homeschooling, and early childhood programs. Throughout my career, I have developed curriculum, led educational programs, hired and mentored teachers, organized enrichment opportunities, and worked closely with parents to create supportive learning environments.

I believe childhood should be filled with curiosity, creativity, time outdoors, and meaningful experiences. My approach is calm, patient, and engaging, and I enjoy following a child's interests while providing the structure and consistency they need to feel secure.

Whether caring for a single child or leading educational programs for many families, my focus has always been the same: creating a safe, nurturing environment where children feel respected, encouraged, and free to learn through exploration and play.
