More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have experience as a youth pastor for kids ages 4–11 and have babysat for family friends and neighbors. I also grew up helping care for my younger brother who is on the autism spectrum, which taught me patience and adaptability. Additionally, I volunteered with Make-A-Wish for four years and am involved in my sorority’s philanthropy, Champions Are Readers (CAR), where I work hands-on with kids to support literacy.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy staying active with kids both indoors and outdoors—playing sports, going to the park or lake, and swimming (I’m a strong swimmer). I grew up playing soccer for 8 years and also did golf, karate, and high school softball, so I’m comfortable with just about any sport, especially as a sports journalism major. Indoors, I love drawing and painting, watching movies, playing board games, and reading Bible stories.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny is creating a safe, caring, and consistent environment where children feel supported and valued. It’s also about being patient, reliable, and attentive to each child’s individual needs while helping them learn, grow, and of course… have fun!! A nanny can be a very impactful figure in a child’s life- it’s important to make it a positive experience.
My experience with special needs children...
My experience with special needs children comes from both personal and volunteer work. I grew up helping care for my younger brother who is on the autism spectrum, which has given me patience, understanding, and adaptability. I’ve also worked with children with special needs through children’s Sunday school at my church. In addition, I volunteer for Night to Shine, a prom experience for individuals with special needs, and I have been involved with Make-A-Wish, supporting children and families in meaningful, uplifting ways.
