Hi! I’m Mikaela — a full-time nanny with 10+ years of experience, specializing in infants and toddlers.

I bring a calm, nurturing presence and a strong foundation in early childhood development. I’ve worked with all age groups, but my heart is especially in the early years. I recently completed a nature-based outdoor education and mentoring program and am currently working as a summer camp director.

I've cared for children in a variety of roles beyond nannying, including teaching after-school science camps, directing and instructing outdoor summer camps, and leading early childhood nature-based programs. I’ve also practiced elimination communication (EC), completed “Ready for K” training, and hold certifications in CPR, First Aid, and Wilderness First Responder.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I have a background in nature-based play, so I love spending lots of time outside with kids—exploring, observing, and engaging with the natural world. I also enjoy doing Legos with older kiddos to support spatial reasoning, as well as art projects, storytelling, singing, dancing, and anything that supports healthy developmental growth through play.

My experience with special needs children...

I’ve worked with several children with neurodiverse backgrounds and always take a flexible, individualized approach based on each child’s unique needs. I’ve used a variety of supportive strategies to help create structure, reduce overwhelm, and build connection—whether through sensory play, visual cues, or calm, consistent routines. I’m always open to learning from families and professionals to best support each child’s development and well-being.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite funny nanny moments is giving kiddos kiwi for the first time. They’re always curious, and when that sweet-tart flavor hits, the faces they make are priceless—wide eyes, puckered lips, and then a big laugh. It’s such a sweet reminder of how fun it is to experience the world through a child’s eyes.
