Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I used to volunteer at my local elementary school’s after school program! I would supervise kids ages 6-10 and I would also help with their homework assignments whenever they needed it. I have an aunt who has two kids, ages 2 and 4! Whenever we visit, I’m always glad to play with them so that they aren’t on screens for too long. I’m also the oldest of three kids in my family so I know what it’s like trying to raise kids and being patient with them!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I don’t have any impressive drawing skills but that doesn’t mean I’m absolutely horrible at it! I love painting, coloring, or drawing on the pavement with chalk. I enjoy playing pretend with any toys a kid might have and making them feel content without needing any screens for entertainment.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Safety is my number one priority when it comes to kids. If I ever go out somewhere like the store or park with my little cousins, I completely stay aware of our surroundings and anything that may pose a threat to our safety at all times. Of course, communication and entertainment are also important. There’s no way of knowing what a child needs if one does not ask. Communication with a child’s parent is critical to ensure everyone is comfortable around my presence and with my actions.

I do not have much experience with special needs children but I am always open to learning and helping out in any way I can.
