I have done volunteer work at a day care taking care of children in the past. I also used to babysit a lot when I was raising my children. I also raised my step son (my kids half brother). Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Indoor activities I like to do with little ones are finger painting, creating projects, teaching them how to be responsible in a caring way, such as rewarding them with stickers, etc. I take walks to the park on nice sunny days with the children. If you have a dog, I also would take your dog to the park with your children. So it's a family outing to them. It gives them a positive outlook on family time.

The most important part to me is watching them grow into positive, successful adults.

My experience with special needs children...

I have a 24 year old nephew that I helped in raising him because my sister had a hard time with him being a single parent, He was and still is special needs. He was delayed in his motor skills as a child, he has and still has trouble comprehending things in general in everyday life. Especially when he was developing his own mind as in what he wanted to say, or anything else in general.
