I have worked at the stellar My Gym Lincoln Center in NYC as the gym's Director as well as teacher and birthday party host! Here I have learned not only what children need and what they gravitate towards, but I also learned what parents need and what they are afraid to ask for! Have no fear parents! All it takes is mutual respect, transparent communication, and a positive outlook for everyone to be satisfied!
I've also been blessed to have worked as a Theater Teacher as well as a Graffiti Arts Instructor for Goddard Riverside's after school enrichment program! This was an incredible experience and provided me with the ability to create and enact my own curriculum, as well as engage with our big kids of NYC! You don't know humbleness until you've cared for 13 year olds in NYC! And I loved every second of it and am forever grateful!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
One aspect of my childcare style is to always allow for individual discovery, hands on learning, and art based activities. Combining the mind with the senses allows for stellar comprehension and a life long love of learning. I always prepare and bring activities, projects, games, and dramatic play every time I care for a child. I believe that to touch and taste, smell and see, sing and dance is the most organic way to discover, learn and keep little ones engaged!
I also always provide outdoor play! Growing up, I wasn't the most physically active child and have found that in my adult life it has been difficult to find the energy to get up and work out! So I always encourage my littles to run, jump, and move, which I believe helps with insecurities and fear as well as physical strength and development. I can immediately determine whether or not a child has physical activity in their day to day, simply by watching how they get up off the floor!

Knowing the child is safe, happy, and loved, while the parent feels secure in knowing their child is in the best hands possible! I am naturally a people pleaser and nothing feels better than a baby hug of satisfaction!
The most important part about being a nanny...
Oh geez this is a tough one because there have been so so many! However, right after my baby brother passed away unexpectedly, I returned to work to find my little was very ill. I spent the entire day holding him, singing to him, finding ways to keep his spirits high and his fever low. It was an exhausting but incredibly gratifying day, and upon leaving in the evening, he followed me all the way outside and to the train (with his mom) to watch me leave. He didn't want me to go, and I swear, the spirit of my brother was following through him, to remind me that the love I felt I lost with my brother being gone, was not lost, but transferred to his little heart. I knew then, working with children is my life's mission. It was a beautiful moment that will always stay with me in every aspect of life.
