A little bit about me

I have devoted the better part of my life towards working with kids in various capacities from ski instructing to summer camp directing to program development to tutoring. My philosophy when it comes to childcare is based around creating a safe and engaging atmosphere where kids feel they can try new things and experiences without the fear of failure. I believe in experiential learning by way of getting outside and engaging in the world around us. I don’t believe in talking down to children and in fact I try and engage with kids on a level of mutual respect and trust. I believe in positive reinforcement and giving kids a second chance when it comes to behavior problems in the sense that without the tools to understand what they could have done differently in a given situation a child may never learn to correct that behavior. I have spent time as a prep-cook and a line cook in various commercial kitchen settings. My hobbies include skiing, mtn biking, climbing, camping, and travel.
