What’s important to me about being a nanny is not just a child being under my supervision but what the child is able to learn during our time together. I do not watch children to just make sure they’re safe, but to also learn everyday principles, routines , and habits that will help them in their everyday lives and when they grow older.

I like to turn just about anything into a dramatic play . One child (5) when I would clean up around the house, I would turn it into a counting game where every item you pick up and place in corrected area will be 1pt. This pushed for cleanliness and build the urge for the child to want to help with cleaning up his space when finish. We used this as bonding tool , a way to keep focus, responsibility and improve motor skills with going back and forth at a steady pace.
