The toddler I am currently caring for has built sort of a routine with me, so now whenever she asks me for a snack, she immediately follows up with assuming position by the porch doors leading out to the backyard. I sit criss-cross apple sauce, and she comfortably plops onto my lap, and enjoys her snack. We quietly observe the outdoors, looking for squirrels or sharing surprised faces at the very exciting and occasional airplane appearances. I love this moment I share with her, I feel that she feels safe, and sharing such simple moments with her brings me joy and satisfaction, to know that I provide her comfort and familiarity.
