More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I worked for the Boys & Girls Club of King County as an after school lead teacher and was also a part of their athletics staff from [phone number hidden]. I was also an Assistant Director at a small preschool, where I was flexible to be a lead teacher and assistant teacher as needed; this was between 2020 and 2022. I have also served in my local church with the children every week while their parents were in church services. I have also nannied long-term for multiple families at a time.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love teaching the children new things (games, building with blocks and legos, you name it!). I love teaching children to be independent and do things around the house, such as cooking and baking, cleaning, and even laundry; if you make anything a game, children will learn to love these little things! I also love exploring outdoors (and even indoors if weather permits!), playing games, reading, jumping on trampolines - you name it and I love it!
The most important part about being a nanny...
Establishing loving and supportive relationships with children and their families. Teaching important life skills that promote safety, exploration, and curiosity about the world around us is so important to me and I strive to offer the same learning environment to the children I care for.
My experience with special needs children...
I haven’t had much experience, but I have worked with children diagnosed with autism and ADHD. With these children, I understand that having a daily routine is important so they know what to expect throughout the day. When routine doesn’t go to plan, I recognize that it’s important to acknowledge their feelings and emotions and redirect their emotions toward something they find comfort in (I.e. reading a book, deep breathing, going on a walk, quiet time).
The most important part about being a nanny...
Teaching my current kiddos the importance of recognizing happy, sad, and angry emotions and how we can handle such big emotions. My current kids remember what I tell them do to if their big emotions call them to hit others, “first, we use our words, if our words don’t work we call our nanny or parent to help us, and we always remember to keep our hands to ourselves”. I’ve noticed my kids repeating this to themselves when they experience their big emotions, and they have been able to talk themselves down without hurting others and themselves.

Full-Time Child Care Provider Available in Seattle, WA: Destiny P.
I’ve worked with children for as long as I could remember. In High School I was apart of the Big Brother Big Sister program. Since then I’ve gravitated towards making a difference and having an impact on their lives. I’ve worked as an Instructor Assistant at an Elementary for over 6 years. There I worked alongside educators to help fill in students educational gap when it comes to reading and math. In addition to making a difference in students educational needs, I nannied for various families over the years. From maintaining everyday household needs to being the main caretaker for weeks on end, while the parents are away, I’m the person you can rely on to continue to be there for your child as you would and more.
