My background is in psychology but early in my career I found that I enjoyed working with children. In school, I took several child development courses. I grew up holding multiple babysitting jobs where I was responsible for looking after children from ages 1 to 12. I also have experience with raising my nephew, though obviously this wasn't paid. My sister had him fairly young and relied on my help to take care of him while she worked. I previously supervised the Franklin County Court Appointed Special Advocate program as well and received a great deal of relevant training. Additionally, I worked as an intensive care coordinator for Piedmont Community Services where I worked with children and their families to meet goals and reform their family system to benefit them.
