During my junior and senior year of high school, I volunteered weekly at a preschool and also volunteered on a regular basis at my church, gaining consistent hands-on experience working with children.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I have enjoyed working with families with a variety of needs and routines, from those who prefer no screen time to those who value learning-based play, or have older children who are more independent, but still need care. I love bringing creativity into the day through art activities like crafting and painting, and I also enjoy spending time outdoors. For littles (3 and under), I really try to implement a lot of early learning into our play like reading books, identifying shapes, and colors. When I volunteered at the preschool, it opened my eyes to start implementing these at a very young age (as early as possible). It makes a bigger difference than you might think! I have also done park, swim, or zoo days in the summer if the parents wanted to implement a fun activity for summer break. I’ve also worked for families who are okay with more of a relaxed day, and we might pop popcorn and watch a movie on an evening or late afternoon after a busy day.

I enjoy creating a safe, fun, and supportive environment for children. I am highly attentive and prepared, with a strong focus on safety and thoughtful care in all situations.
