Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have worked as a day care and summer camp teacher for a few years! The age groups I worked with during this time were 3-8 years old, and would spend upwards of 9 hours a day caring for their needs, safety, and well being. I led groups of children through the city, on public transportation, and led activities such as coloring, arcades, potty-time, and more. Recently, I also worked as a transportation nanny! My main priorities in that role were to safely bring the child to school, get her cleaned up and fix her hair, and then later pick her up from school and bring her home. I also worked as a live in nanny for two children, ages 8 and 13, as well as their dog! I handled school drop off, pick up, housekeeping, meal prep, and stimulating activities for the children— this includes baking, playing sports outside, coloring, etc.

Activities I enjoy doing with children are reading, coloring, and playing outside. I love taking the time to understand the child and what makes them happiest and most fulfilled! Whether that is playing pretend, or spending time reading their favorite books, I will take the time to enrich our days together!

The most important part about being a nanny is knowing how to be a mix of responsible and run an organized program, whilst also being someone the child knows they can feel safe, comfortable, and cared for with. Being a nanny is more than just someone to watch after your children, it’s about creating a loving and nurturing environment, communicating with the parents, and becoming someone the children know they can rely on.
