Full-Time Nanny Job: The Dalgaard Family with 2 Children
Looking for a FAMILY to join our nanny share - Nanny already in place!
About the nanny (Kelsey): I have a degree in child development and psychology from Cal Poly SLO, four years of experience as a lead teacher in infant/toddler classrooms, and four years of experience as a nanny, primarily in a share set-up. I feel most connected to the RIE pedagogy and have a “gentle parenting” approach to caregiving. I prioritize connection, warmth, and silliness, as well as maintaining developmentally appropriate, firm, and loving boundaries. I’m very comfortable with the daily rhythms of infant care and am happy to work with you and your child to settle into a routine that works for all of us!
About the other family: Parents both work hybrid schedules and will be home part-time. Baby H will be close to five months when we start. We are still getting to know his personality, but so far he is pretty happy, smiley and content to go with the flow. His older sibling is five years old and starting kindergarten. She is silly, sweet, and independent, and we’re planning for her to join the share at the end of the day when she gets home from school (around 2:45).
About you: We’re hoping you have a child who will be 4-8 months come October and are excited to have a new baby buddy! It’s important to us that the kids are vaccinated, we are all proactive communicators with each other, and you are looking for ~1 year commitment.
Logistics: H’s family would like to host. We’re looking to start October 5, and are open to a later start date or ramp up for the other family until November. The current plan is M-Th, 9-5, with options for Friday care now or in the future (let’s chat about your needs). Pay is $18/hour per infant (via payroll service, guaranteed hours, plus sick leave, holidays, and PTO), and Harry and Stacey pay all additional costs when big sister joins in the afternoon. Responsibilities would include getting the boys ready for bed, and if it’s a school day getting them ready for school so I can take them when I get home from work! I have a nanny room that would be yours and you’re welcome to sleep or do homework or whatever you please for the majority of the shift as long as you’re there and my boys are safe!
I’d love to find someone who is looking for something longer term, but this would also be a great job opportunity for college student looking for an easy way to make money without interfering with classes!
My six year old is autistic and non verbal, using small phrases or a talker tablet to communicate, so I have a strong preference for someone with special needs experience and practice with other kiddos like him who are sweet but stubborn lol
My four year old is potty trained, just using a pull up at night, but my 6 year old is not yet potty trained (we’re working on it) so diaper changing would also be needed for him before bed and in the morning.
You would get 6 weeks off every summer, as well as Christmas break or spring break off every year, as well as never having to work Christmas or thanksgiving!
About my kiddos, both boys are total sweethearts, my six year old Kai is a happy giggly little bean content to be in his own world most of the time! Loves playing outside, especially if flowers, water or plants are involved!
My four year old Kona is likewise so very sweet, but sometimes a bit bossy, and will chat your ear off any chance he’s given! Kona loves playing make believe anything, and has a vast collection of toys that he will insist you play with him with!
Both kiddos also love books, Kona loves being red to and Kai loves reading books to you (he’s just learned to read)

May only need part time, but we are expecting our first child this fall (due date 10/31/25). We are looking for child care but depending on what is available we may need a nanny a couple of days during the work week. So ideally looking for someone available 1-2 days a week and if we can't find day care once we're both back at work, up to 5 days a week (Monday through Friday).

Just looking to explore this site as a future option right now. Our baby has a due date in December 2025 so after parental leave we would probably looking for someone around March or April of 2026. My wife and I both work. She works Monday thru Friday but I’m a firefighter and have an odd schedule so we’d be looking for someone with flexibility and willingness to work somewhere between 6-8 days a month, likely during the week. I get my work schedule for the entire year so although the days are scattered we would be able to plan in advance. The days would likely be somewhere in the 10 hour range … 7am to 5pm or so. As we get closer we’d be able to figure that out more exactly. We also have a 5 year old golden retriever at the house who is very friendly and easy.
